Donaldson uploaded videos to YouTube when he was 13, and he used the handle "MrBeast6000". He began by posting Let's Plays and "videos of his estimation of how rich other YouTubers" content. He gained fame in 2017 when his "Counting to 100,000" video garnered tens to thousands of views in just a few days.
